The write lesson

The Write Lesson is an online handwriting resource designed for teachers, parents, and caregivers who want to help children develop clear, fluent, and confident handwriting.  

Created by Belinda Blick-Duggan, a New Zealand teacher with more than 25 years of classroom experience, The Write Lesson combines practical teaching expertise with current research on handwriting instruction. Belinda developed the resource to provide a clear, structured, and effective approach that can be used both in schools and at home. 

The resource includes a comprehensive library of video lessons that make handwriting instruction simple, engaging, and consistent. While aligned with the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, the structured lessons are equally suitable for children learning English handwriting in any country. Whether used in the classroom, for intervention, or to support learning at home, The Write Lesson gives adults the confidence to teach handwriting correctly. 

Teachers can use the lessons for whole-class instruction, small-group teaching, or targeted support, while parents can follow the same structured sequence at home to reinforce learning.
